Marketing Internship

As the first film commission in the country, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting is the one-stop shop for all production needs in New York City, including free permits, free public locations and free police assistance. The agency markets New York City as a prime location, provides premiere customer service to production companies and facilitates production throughout the five boroughs. Whether production companies are shooting a feature film, commercial, television show or music video, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting serves as an invaluable resource on the New York City entertainment production industry.

The intern’s duties will include:

  • Research and maintain lists of contacts for essential production services including hotel, car rental, airfare, catering, location managers, scouting, budgeting services, pre-production office space, studios, interior and exterior locations, and post-production houses
  • Research and maintain list of contacts for New York City television shows, film festivals and Broadway promotions.
  • Provide support in the design, development and implementation of discount programs for vendors to offer to “Made in NY” productions
  • Research information on City resources and liaise with city agencies for events, premieres, and productions being planned in New York City as well as industry-related events organized by the MOFTB.

Required skills include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Access/Powerpoint
  • Ability to complete projects quickly, accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent organizational and research skills
  • Ability to work within a collaborative environment
  • Pleasant phone manner
